The company's investment portfolio is managed by VietNam Holding Asset Management Ltd. (VNHAM), an investment management firm with offices in Ho Chi Minh City and a service subsidiary in Zurich. The Vietnam team manages the portfolio, with the board of VNHAM having primary responsibility for the investment approvals, policies and strategies. The Zurich office focuses on investor relations, board administration and financial controlling as well as corporate development.
VNHAM is an active and engaged investor dedicated to the successful performance of its portfolio companies and the sustainable development of Vietnam. The board members of both VNH as well as VNHAM are actively involved in the portfolio company engagement activities as well as in the VNH Forum events.
VNH’s founder, Juerg Vontobel, has been actively involved in the development of Vietnam's banking and capital markets since 1992. As an international banker with 10 years of regional and country management executive positions in Asia, he was a Strategic Partner for financial sector developments to the Swiss government’s SECO between 2004 and 2006, with a wide range of activities focused on Vietnam. In this role, Juerg Vontobel launched, among others, an extensive program to develop advanced corporate governance practices in Vietnam’s banking industry.
The golden diamond at the center of the company logo is an ancient coil for wealth. The dome-shaped figure protecting it represents the Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam founded in 1070, and a subject of a national pride. The circular shape of the logo itself refers to unity, perfection and inclusion while the red tone conveys richness and good luck.
